The Chemicals in Cigarettes

There is benzene for one which is a colorless cyclic hydrocarbon that is obtained from coal and petroleum, and which is contained in cigarette smoke. This is bad enough, but you have to remember that there are still thousands of other chemicals that are being put into your body each and every time that you light up that cigarette.
One of the other most dangerous cigarette smoke chemicals is formaldehyde. In case you are not already aware, this is a chemical that is used on dead people so that their bodies stay in good condition or preserved, for as long as possible. This is a colorless liquid that is highly poisonous and which is used in cigarettes for basically the same reason, to keep the cigarettes fresh for as long as possible.
It is pretty crazy when you start to get into this and learn about what the different chemicals in cigarettes actually are and what they are typically used for. To think that you would willingly put the same chemical that is used to preserve dead bodies into your own live body on a regular basis, certainly does not sound sane.
